Anti Yellow additive
Yellowing in Recycled PET (rPET) is a common issue linked to the recycling procedure. The color change in rPET can be attributed to the treatments and processes involved in recycling, which introduce impurities, residues, or reactions that result in a yellowish hue.
The Anti Yellow additive is designed to improve the visual appeal of rPET by restoring its original look, mitigating or preventing yellowing. This additive formulation incorporates stabilizers to combat degradation.
IV Builder additive
In the case of rPET, the Intrinsic Viscosity (IV) levels can differ based on the origin of the recycled material and the recycling techniques employed. Generally, rPET tends to have a lower IV than virgin PET due to polymer chain breakage during recycling, leading to reduced molecular weight.
When applications demand enhanced mechanical properties, the IV Builder additive serves as a beneficial solution. Operating as chain extenders, these additives boost molecular weight and enhance the mechanical attributes of rPET as needed.
